Many tourists consult us before traveling to find out what to bring and what not to bring. In general, it is good to use common sense and not bring things that you naturally cannot carry on your own. We can help with luggage, etc. But it is good to come prepared.
With this in mind, we have selected some tips on what you SHOULD bring, the essentials for a trip through the Amazon rainforest. So write everything down carefully so you don't forget, ok?
1 – Insect repellent
In general, we don't have many mosquitoes. Our cabins have screens and the nights are very pleasant. However, it is always good to bring insect repellent to protect yourself from some annoying insects that may appear and even to protect yourself in the forest, when you go on tours.
2 – Light Clothing
You will be walking a lot here on tours, in the forest, by boat, jumping in the river, etc. It is good to keep in mind that it will be very easy to get dirty. Choose light clothing, it is usually very hot and humid here. It's also a good idea to bring light jackets for the evening, in case you get cold. Boots or shoes suitable for hiking in the forest, a cap or hat, long-sleeved t-shirts (UV-resistant), whatever your common sense guides you. Bring clothes that allow your body to breathe easily. And of course, bring a bathing suit to enjoy some good times in the waters of the Rio Negro.
3 – Sunscreen
Just because you're in the shade of the most beautiful trees doesn't mean you'll forget to protect yourself from the sun, right? Bring sunscreen, always apply it. It's a life tip.
4 – Books
We have electricity and an electric shower, but we don't have internet, which is great for catching up on that naughty reading. How about it? Bring a book, magazines or even your tablet to read in our hammock area. If one of the monkeys doesn't bother you with all the cuteness, it will be a very relaxing experience.
5 – Personal hygiene and first aid kit
Bring your toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, any medications you usually take, bandages, ointments, etc.
6 – Useful items
For spending the night in the jungle, it is a good idea to have a flashlight, raincoat and extra batteries. Other than that, for general use, it is a good idea not to forget cell phone chargers, extra batteries, cameras, etc.
7 – Money
Remember to withdraw money before getting on the transfer to continue. It is a good idea to always have some money to buy souvenirs during the tours around the city and at the indigenous tribes. It makes things much easier.
If you have any questions, you can ask us by email or message us on social media. Either way, your experience will be better than planned.
